ABOUT
US
After the season is before the season.
In Germany, the stallion pre-selections are in full swing, and in the Netherlands, too, the selection and preparation of the new generation of stallions for the first inspection in Ermelo is a hot topic of conversation. Therefore, we are already looking ahead and lifting the veil a little on our plans for the 2027 season.
We look back on a fantastic season with many highlights. The icing on the cake was, of course, our 'Be My Guest', the 'Bundeschampion of Hearts', as described on social media. Our true eye-catcher, a son of Bonds x Sezuan x Acodetto I, managed to convince us a long time ago. By now, many of you have also taken him to your hearts.
Be My Guest made his competition debut in Mönchengladbach in June 2026, where he immediately won his class with a massive score. Three weeks later, he achieved a double victory at the Baden-Württemberg State Championship in Weilheim. He won both the qualifying class and the final on Sunday, which not only earned him a ticket to the Bundeschampionat but also made him the State Champion for 4-year-old dressage horses.
Everything that followed during the Al Shira'aa Bundeschampionat in Warendorf still feels like a dream. Under Dionne Korringa, Be My Guest managed to impress not only us, but also the jury and the audience. “Wahnsinn…” echoed through the microphone.
Be My Guest won the qualification with a record score of no less than 9.7. The ultimate 10 appeared on the scoreboard twice: for his canter and for his rideability. In addition, he received a 9.8 for the trot, a 9.5 for the walk, and a 9.8 for general impression.
He also achieved a magnificent score in the final, including another 10 for the canter and a 9.8 for the trot. Unfortunately, a slight scare resulted in a deduction of 0.2 points, causing the victory to ultimately slip away from him. With a final score of 8.9, Be My Guest became Vice-Bundeschampion. A result we are incredibly proud of!
Be My Guest has shown everyone what an incredible natural talent he is. We are incredibly grateful to have witnessed this and look forward with confidence to everything yet to come with this special horse. From early 2027, Be My Guest will be available for breeding throughout Europe. More information will follow as soon as possible.
'Tie Break' also managed to qualify for the World Breeding Dressage Championships for Young Horses in Verden. Under his new rider Leonie Richter, he performed beautiful tests in the 6-year-old class, resulting in magnificent scores. What perhaps pleases us most is the immense confidence Leonie places in Tie Break. We have felt that confidence ourselves from day one, and Tie Break lives up to it time and again. We are incredibly happy with this combination and look forward with confidence to their shared future towards the top level of sport. Tie Break has made his presence felt again over the past year and has more than lived up to our expectations.
The first crop of Tie Break's offspring will turn three in 2027, and the first stallions will appear in the inspection ring in the coming period. During the Oldenburg Association's preliminary selection, the first two sons of Tie Break immediately received an invitation to the main inspection. The future therefore looks very promising. We look forward with excitement and confidence to the further development of the offspring of this magnificent two-time performance champion.
Two years ago, many of you, just like us, were completely captivated by our black movement artist 'Fascination'. Despite the good quality and motility of his semen, the fertilization results were unfortunately very disappointing. That was very disappointing for everyone and was also a major blow to our motivation within the stud farm at the time.
Still, we had to move on. Although Fascination did not become the prolific sire he seemed capable of being, that has not detracted from his exceptional qualities as a sport horse. His career continued brilliantly this summer with a magnificent victory in the qualifier for the Al Shira'aa Bundeschampionat for six-year-old horses.
As for his fertility, we have naturally not been idle. Thanks to modern reproductive techniques, it is now possible to use Fascination for your breeding program. More information on this will follow shortly.
In July, our Totilas son 'Total Amour' became Oldenburg State Champion in the six-year-old dressage horses class in Rastede. A few weeks later, another victory followed. This time it was our up-and-coming talent 'Via Red Velvet', who won the Pavo Cup selection under Dionne with, among other things, a 9.0 for both his trot and rideability. The development this horse has undergone is extraordinary. We see in him a true future Grand Prix star. Red Velvet has not covered many mares yet, but despite the limited numbers, his foals stand out enormously due to their bloodlines, beautiful conformation, and tremendous quality of movement. A stallion to keep a close eye on!
It was a season with fantastic results and many highlights, for which we are incredibly grateful and proud. We look forward to the upcoming season, in which we hope to welcome you again. In the coming period, we will regularly take you along in the training of our stallions via photos and videos on our social media channels. In this way, we try to give you a good picture of their development and qualities. In addition, we will present our stallions at various stallion shows and we are organizing a stallion presentation ourselves in the form of an 'Open Doors / Breeders Meeting'. More information and dates will follow soon.
We breed approximately thirty foals annually with great passion. Within our own breeding program, too, we constantly strive to create the best possible combinations using the best bloodlines in the world. A strong and proven dam line is of great importance to us. You will therefore always see this reflected in our stallion collection.
In addition to breeding sport horses, Van Bockxgrave Horses also focuses on (inter)national trade and the training of high-quality sport horses. With our stallion station, we hope to offer you, alongside a collection of high-quality stallions, assistance with the sale of your foals or other (bred) horses. Because we are very active in breeding ourselves, we know better than anyone how wonderful it can be: a pregnant mare, foals galloping through the pasture, and a growing group of young horses. Unfortunately, things can sometimes go wrong; as breeders, we all know that downside. That is why we try to accommodate you with attractive conditions. In this way, we want to ensure that breeding remains a great pleasure for everyone. Let's try to breed that one champion together that people will be talking about for a long time — with one of our stallions as the sire!
